RGC hosts workshop on competitive research funding schemes at HSUHK

The Research Grants Council (RGC) held a workshop on Competitive Research Funding Schemes for the Local Self-financing (SF) Degree Sector at HSUHK on 20 November 2024, covering the RGC Faculty Development Scheme (FDS), the Inter-Institutional Development Scheme, the Institutional Development Scheme (IDS) Collaborative Research Grant, and the IDS Research Infrastructure Grant.

The workshop invited faculty members who successfully obtained research grants to share their stories. For the first time, achievements of completed FDS projects were also featured at a poster session alongside the workshop.

Professor Julie Li, Chairman of the Assessment Panel for the Competitive Research Funding Schemes for the Local SF Degree Sector; Professor James Tang, Secretary-General of the University Grants Committee; and Professor Timothy Tong, Chairman of the RGC shared their views and insights at workshop, which was attended by almost 200 academics from 10 institutions in the SF education sector.
