HSUHK receives HK$7m donation to promote new quality standards and innovation culture

The Centre for Quality Standard and Management (CQSM) of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) received a donation of HK$7 million from Sentuo Construction Group to promote new quality standards and innovation culture.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Centre and donation ceremony held on 22 March 2025, Professor Simon Ho, President of HSUHK, said that he was delighted to see collaborations between the Centre and the industry to co-develop new quality standards for different sectors, which is crucial for the future development of the Greater Bay Area and the world.

Mr Kong Shengxiang, Chairman of Sentuo Construction Group noted that the Central Government encourages the industry to raise the quality standards to cope with global competition, and expects the Centre to help raise the industry’s interest on quality management and accept new standards as the updated benchmarks for the industry. As a Co-Director of CQSM, Professor Gavin Chau reiterated that the Centre will promote quality and innovation culture via applied research and training, and assist companies to implement quality management initiatives.
