Big Data Intelligence Centre receives donation to foster innovation and applied research

The Big Data Intelligence Centre (BDIC) of the School of Decision Sciences (SDSC) received a donation of HK$380,000 from Pro-Technic Machinery Ltd. The donation will support BDIC’s innovation in frontier fields such as artificial intelligence algorithms, analytical models, and application technologies, further promoting BDIC’s applied research in artificial intelligence and industrial big data.

To express gratitude for Pro-Technic Machinery Ltd’s support, BDIC held a cheque presentation ceremony on 11 July 2024, which was officiated by Mr Robert Lai, Managing Director, Mr Nicholas Lai, General Manager of Pro-Technic Machinery Ltd and Professor Chan Wai-sum, Dean of SDSC.

In addition to the collaboration, Pro-Technic Machinery Ltd will also provide internship opportunities to SDSC students. The School and BDIC look forward to deepening their collaboration with Pro-Technic Machinery Ltd, working together to promote the development of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing, as well as contributing to Hong Kong’s education, technological innovation, and industrial upgrading and transformation.
