The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CLPS to provide local, Mainland, and overseas internship opportunities for HSUHK students. This new initiative, the “Hong Kong-GBA Dual Place Internship Programme”, enables HSUHK students to gain a deep understanding of the complementary strengths of Hong Kong and other cities in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) through their internships, thereby fostering the development of future talent for the GBA.

HSUHK’s piloted the Programme this summer with substantial support from CLPS, which offered internship positions in Hong Kong and Guangzhou to HSUHK students for a period of six months. Participating students spent the first three months at the CLPS Guangzhou subsidiary, followed by the remaining three months at the headquarters in Hong Kong.

Professor Jeanne Fu, Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience) of HSUHK, expressed her gratitude towards CLPS for their support. She stated that this collaboration has enabled students to gain a deeper understanding of industry trends and enhanced their professional competence. Through internships in different regions and areas, students are also able to broaden their horizons, which helps explore their future career development.

CLPS believes that the Programme expands students’ vision of the companies’ business in China and overseas and promotes talent exchanges and cooperation between Hong Kong and the GBA.

Ms Bianca Or, a Year 4 student from BSc (Hons) in Data Science and Business Intelligence programme participated in this pilot programme. She shared, “The Programme allows me to gain experience in both Hong Kong and Guangzhou within the same internship. It helps me understand the different customer bases and business developments in both locations and gain a deeper understanding of how both places can mutually benefit from their complementarity.”
