In pursuance of the flagship green initiative Symposium on Sustainability and Bamboo in July 2015, HSUHK takes pride in organising the Forum on Sustainability and Bamboo 2019: Architecture and Building Materials in Hong Kong. The University strives for long-term sustainable development with the vision of becoming a leading private liberal-arts-oriented university in the region. With Platinum award-winning green buildings, the University has been putting emphasis on sustainability education by widely planting bamboo on campus and extensively using bamboo material for building wall panels, flooring and furniture. HSUHK is known by many people as “Junzi University” as it resembles the spirit and characters of bamboo.
The Forum aims at bringing together experts, academia, industrialists and practitioners from around the world to share knowledge and experience with the younger generation on the roles of green buildings in sustainability and the significance of bamboo applications.
