Purchase and Supply Management (PSM) is not only an indispensible function of contemporary businesses but is also a cornerstone for the businesses to be competitive and prosperous in the dynamic market environment. To this end, employees who are knowledgeable of performing and managing various PSM activities such as supply sourcing, costing, and control, become the valuable and non-substitutable assets to the businesses.

This module aims at providing the students with comprehensive yet in-depth concepts of PSM. It is also to equip the students with the state-of-art knowledge and skills of PSM and to prepare them for becoming PSM professionals.

Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

1. describe the recent development and leading-edge concepts of PSM;


2. explain the key processes and best practices of PSM;


3. make judgment on the appropriateness of applying different PSM strategies;


4. apply the learnt knowledge and skills to identify PSM problems; and


5. exercise the analytical tools to analyze PSM problems.
