This module covers basic knowledge on life insurance and health insurance both in individual and group lines of business. Topics include but are not limited to: insurance company organization, regulations, financial elements, contracts, product features and policy provisions of several common lines of life and health insurance products (for example, term and whole life insurance, medical expense coverage, disability income coverage and so on). Compliance, professionalism and business ethics will also be discussed.

Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

1. understand life and health insurance and related regulation, professionalism and business ethics as well as financial elements of the products;


2. explain and identify features and provisions of life insurance;


3. describe and explain health insurance policies and provisions; and


4. compare and analyse life insurance and/or health insurance products.
