The Nordic Culture Festival at HSUHK cum HSUHK Consul General Series, an event co-hosted by the Student Affairs Office and the School of Translation and Foreign Languages on 15 October 2020, showcased the kaleidoscopic culture of Scandinavia and encouraged cultural exchanges through an array of activities.
Ms Johanna Karanko, Consul General of Finland in Hong Kong and Macao, shared with the audience the happy life in Finland. With mutual trust between people, equal opportunities, political and civil freedom, free education system, work-life balance living style and the beautiful natural environment, Finland is ranked as the happiest country in the world.
Mr Per Augustsson, Consul General of Sweden in Hong Kong and Macau, introduced Sweden to the audience as an innovative country with several renowned brands. Sweden encourages creativity and innovation, its people believe in individual’s ability, and the less hierarchical working environment unlocks everyone’s potential. Mr Augustsson also mentioned that Sweden would focus on environmental protection, mobile technology and life sciences in the future.
