“Good is not good enough if it can be better, and better is not good enough if it can be the best.” After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in management, Jane decided to pursue a master’s degree overseas to complement and deepen her current knowledge and to fulfil her future career aspiration as a management consultant. Jane graduated in 2020 with first class honour and an academic excellence scholarship. Throughout her time at HSUHK, she had actively engaged in various competitions and internships as she believes that being practical is just as important as being knowledgeable. From an HSMCer to an HSUHKer, Tony felt lucky to witness HSMC transforming from college to university. After graduating from the university, he joined Ernst & Young as a member of the assurance team and had the chance to be involved in an IPO project. Though he was graduated from BBA – CG programme, he thought he was equipped with the essential accounting knowledge to be a junior auditor. Demi joined Ernst & Young as an intern in Year 3 through HSMC. After her graduation in 2019, she stayed and worked as a staff accountant. Currently she is working in the entity compliance and governance service team and has participated in several global engagements. She would like to give special thanks to the lecturers and professors in HSMC that inspired her to start her dream as a company secretary. After graduation, Lam Tsz San, Jay joined Storellet of Green Tomato Limited, one of the largest F&B Loyalty Mobile platforms in Hong Kong, as Sales Manager. Jay has leveraged his marketing knowledge and skills to creatively design unique membership schemes for his clients. As he recalls, HSUHK’s marketing programme has helped him build a strong knowledge foundation with broad-based training and internship opportunities, which allowed him to gain hands-on experience as a student. Being an HSUHKer, Kitty found the University provide her a myriad of opportunities, including internships and exchanges, which broaden her horizons as well as enrich her business knowledge. She worked as an intern at the Financial Control Department of The Bank of East Asia in London in Year 3 summer, giving her more confidence and enhancing her communication skills. She graduated in 2019 with accounting concentration and is currently working at Ernst & Young as a Tax Associate in the APAC regional team, who coordinates with worldwide countries’ team members. She has started to attempt the QP exam under the 2019 Early-Bird Programme and aims to become a Certified Public Accountant in the near future. She would also like to thank all the professors and teachers who helped her along the way. Even though Kenny is an accounting major student, he has tried a lot of jobs from different industries to find out what he really wants to go with the path in the future. Thanks to the Student Affairs Office, he interned at several overseas organisations during summer, for example, a financial institution in Singapore, HKETO in Berlin, and a company in Australia. He has also worked as an audit intern in PwC as well and he thought that he would become an auditor, just like many accounting students. However, a twisted point, the Tax Debate Competition by TIHK, changed his mind. During the competition, HSUHK professors were very caring and supportive. After going deeper into this aspect, he changed his application from “assurance” to “taxation” with PwC. With QP scholarships from HKICPA, Kenny’s goal is not only to become a qualified CPA, but also to keep going with his profession in the taxation field. TOPCHUNG Hiu Nam, Jessica

After graduating from HKHSU, Jessica has joined PwC, one of the Big Four Accountant Firms, as an Assurance Associate. Jessica enjoyed the internship programmes in different industries during the summer vacations in her university life. Those opportunities allow her to understand the cultures and real-life practices of different firms. In 2018 summer, Jessica worked as an intern in the PwC assurance team. The knowledge, skills she acquired had helped her to fit in the big family after her graduation. PwC has not only provided Jessica opportunities to work under engagement of different companies in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, but it has also continuously provided resources and trainings for Jessica to attempt the HKICPA QP Exam. Teresa is so glad to be the first batch graduate students of BBA-FA programme with First Class Honours. The BBA-FA programme, which combines both academic theories and hands-on practices equipped her with a solid understanding of financial knowledge and practical technical skills. Also, the university offered a lot of support by granting her various scholarships. During her university life, she also strived for a good balance between studies and internships. Her internship experience in ICBC International, Bloomberg and an accounting firm equipped her with the knowledge of investment banking as well as financial advisory. It also embedded her with detail-minded personality as well as to train her as a fast learner. Ella is now working as a Senior Analyst at Nomura International. At HSUHK, she represented the school to compete in CFA Institute Research Challenge, , which enhanced her quantitative and financial modeling skills. Meanwhile, she had worked as an intern in a bank in Tokyo and travelled to Singapore and China to have cultural exchanges, which benefited her a lot in both knowledge and insight. She is thankful to have received the first-class education with a focus on finance in HSUHK. The programme has equipped her to excel in a wide variety of jobs and given her excellent prospects for employment and career development. Benson was proud to be one of the HSUHK graduates. The BBA-BAF programme is well-designed and has equipped him with solid fundamental knowledge and skills in banking and finance. Professors are friendly and willing to communicate with students. He appreciates their enthusiasm for teaching and good advice on career planning. In the workplace, Benson always does research and analysis using Bloomberg in the dealing room. One of the takeaways throughout his 4 years of studies in HSUHK is the experience of using Bloomberg in the Financial Trading Lab. Throughout the four years of study, David was given opportunities to explore the world and many other things. To kick-start his exposure to the vivid business world, he did his first internship in Year 1. He worked for NetDragon Websoft Inc. in Fujian, China, where he gained insight into the world of business. In Year 3, he worked as a public relations intern for the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore. He was trained to be detail-minded and assisted in organising an international event for over 600 guests. These were invaluable experiences. Apart from internship, he went to Inha University in South Korea for an exchange programme. Studying in a foreign country is definitely an unforgettable experience. The exchange programme in Inha University gave him the chance to exchange ideas with international students and to learn to embrace different cultures. Nelson was a BBA graduate in 2016 with major in Accounting. During his four-year study in HSMC, he had gained practical knowledge in accounting profession and useful business concepts which helped him in preparing himself to become a professional Accountant.
HSMC not only provided him with solid professional knowledge, but also the direction of his career. Since his graduation, he has joined PwC serving as an Associate in Assurance department to conduct audit for multinational corporations. At the same time, he is currently preparing for passing the QP Examination in order to become a member of HKICPA, and targets to be qualified in the near future.

In Hang Seng Management College, students and professors are like close friends. Gabriel was much inspired and enlightened by lecturers’ and professors’ passion and wisdom. They transform static book knowledge into dynamic and fascinating teaching. They teach students knowledge and the courage to compete with the elites around the world. HSMC also gave him plenty of opportunities to explore himself and the world. His exchange experience to Edinburgh Napier University in Year 2 was a truly extraordinary one. He had the chance to interact with students from around the world. The inspiring journey helped him recognise his interest and determine his career path – to become an international relations researcher. In order to achieve this goal, he is going to study the master’s programme of Global Political Economy (MGPE) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. In Year 4, he has successfully completed a part-time internship at Cathay Pacific Service Limited, where he gained first-hand experience in marketing research and handling real-life customer situations. “Knowledge changes destiny” is his motto in life. Striving for a better destiny, Rex enrolled at Hang Seng Management College (HSMC), where his knowledge in accounting, business and technology was enriched. Throughout the four years at HSMC, he actively engaged in entrepreneurial ventures, community involvement and development of educational technology. From the beginning, he wanted to make the best out of his college life. It was his honour to be the Founding President of the Students’ Association of Business Administration (SABA) at HSMC, and operate his own education centre since Year Three. It was not easy to strike a balance between studies and doing business, but the experience made him determined to become a successful socio-preneur in the education industry. In 2014, he started his second business of providing the first e-learning platform for professionals in Hong Kong. Targeting young professionals, iMasteRoom aims to offer first-rate courses at affordable prices. With the incubation support from Hong Kong Science Parks, Cyberport, Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and Jockey Club, iMasteRoom was granted funds of over a million dollars to develop advanced technologies. In 2011, he was awarded the Dragon 100 Young Chinese Leader and actively initiated the DragoNation Forum which raised the awareness of socio-preneurship substantially. In the future, he hopes to develop a training curriculum about entrepreneurial spirit for student innovation. After graduated from HSMC in 2015 with first-class honours, Jimmy has been working at the Hong Kong Jockey Club as a Management Trainee.
He is grateful for all the resources and opportunities provided by the school and professors throughout the four years of study. The knowledge and experience gained from courses and internship programs enhanced his abilities in human resources management, data analysis and business strategic planning, which are precious for his rotations to more than 10 teams across three departments at the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
