In view of the rising trend of confirmed and suspected cases of novel coronavirus infection, to safeguard the health of staff members and students, the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) announces that, except emergency and operational needs, staff members can choose to work at home until 2 February 2020. In line with the government’s relevant preventive measures, the University Library and the Sports Center will be closed in this period. The University also urges that, for those who have returned from Mainland over the last 6 days or will be returning from Mainland, with the consent of their unit heads, they shall stay at home for at least 14 days before returning to office for work.
HSUHK has already announced to suspend the face-to-face teaching activities until 16 February 2020 (i.e. class will be resumed on Monday, 17 February 2020) to safeguard the health of staff and students. Alternative teaching and learning arrangements during this suspension period will be announced in due course. During this period, the University will continue to monitor the situation closely and make timely announcements as necessary.
