Discussion Room A113, located on the first floor of the Library in the S H Ho Academic Building at the HSUHK, was named as “Bright Future Discussion Room” in recognition of the generous donation from Professor Roy Chung, Founder and Chairman of Bright Future Charitable Foundation. The ceremony, held on 27 April 2021, was officiated by Professor Chung together with Dr Patrick Poon, Chairman of HSUHK – Foundation Management Committee and Fundraising and Donation Committee, and President Simon S M Ho.
In his remarks, President Ho conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to Professor Chung for his kind contribution to the University’s long-term development. He would also like to thank Professor Chung’s staunch support for being the Co-Chairman of ‘HSUHK FunD Run’ Organising Committee in 2018 and 2021, promoting sport activities and spreading positive energy in the community.
Professor Chung commended the HSUHK during his speech for its ‘Liberal + Professional’ education model which helps students pursue their personal development and nurture their virtues. He quoted ‘Wisdom in hold, Elegance in mold’, a verse from the Song Dynasty writer Su Shi, to encourage HSUHK students to enhance their knowledge through lifelong learning, wishing them a bright future. He hoped the students would give back to their alma mater and benefit the wider society with great achievements.
The well-equipped Bright Future Discussion Room is ideal for postgraduate collaborative studies, group discussions and presentations.
