The HSUHK Professional Mentorship Scheme (PMS) 2022 has organised its last event, ‘Networking with Mentors and Mentees’, in September 2022. We are glad to have the participation of around 50 mentors and mentees, who were excited to meet each other face-to-face, as it was the first on-site mentorship event since the outbreak of the pandemic. The event was kicked-off by the presentation of the PMS Creative Team 2022 comprising six passionate mentees. A video, produced by the team to capture the fruitful mentorship and learning experience over the past year, was premiered at the event, bringing back many precious memories to the participants

During the event, mentors and mentees got to know each other better by engaging in a fun-filled ice-breaking game. Following the game was the most exciting part of the day – the ‘speed-networking session’ held in rotational format. The session was specially arranged in various rounds and in small groups, so that mentees could grasp the chance to meet different mentors. In each round, mentors and mentees exchanged ideas on various topics, such as sharing their dream career and personal interest, allowing mentees to practise their networking and communications skills with our mentors, who are all industry professionals from diverse backgrounds.
After several rounds of fruitful networking sessions and meaningful discussions, mentors were invited to select three students who impressed them most with their outstanding performance. Each of these students was rewarded with a felt folder and a book voucher. The event was concluded by Mr Cannon Fung, Head (Career Planning and Development) of the Student Affairs Office, who summaised some important networking and communications tips for students, so as to prepare them for their future careers.
We are grateful for the keen participation of all mentors and mentees at the event, and hope that the experience our mentees gained in PMS 2022 would bring a lasting positive impact to their future career pursuits.
PMS 2023 will start its recruitment in Oct 2022. Interested students please stay tuned to our news.
