Arts@HSUHK presents the Passing beyond time: Chinese Shadow Puppetry by Shadow Puppet Master Li Jianxin of Sun Sun Arts Troupe on 24 September 2024 (Tue) at 12:45 at the Auditorium.
Shadow puppetry is an ancient art that enfolds craft, sculpture, music, play, history, etc. In 2011, Chinese shadow puppetry was inscribed in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. As time passes, how this traditional art has evolved to stay as a gem in the contemporary world?
The programme, which is supported by Hong Kong Arts Development Council, introduces the art of Chinese Shadow Puppetry and its development with live performances. Free admission. Please click here to register.
