In appreciation of the generous donation from Tin Ka Ping Foundation, which will support the construction of HSUHK’s new academic building, the Creative Humanities Hub (the Hub), as well as the University’s long-term development, HSUHK held a Naming and Appreciation Ceremony of the “Tin Ka Ping Institute for Chinese Language and Culture” on 5 December 2023. Guests included Mr Tin Hing-sin, Chairman of the Board of Tin Ka Ping Foundation; Dr Yuen Pong-yiu, Director of Tin Ka Ping Foundation; Dr Patrick Poon, Governor and Chairman of Fundraising; the Donation Committee and Foundation Management Committee of HSUHK; and Professor Simon S M Ho, President of HSUHK.
President Simon Ho expressed his gratitude to the Tin Ka Ping Foundation for their longstanding support and pledged that HSUHK will continue to nurture students through its unique “Liberal + Professional” education model.
In his speech, Mr Tin commended HSUHK for its dedication to higher education and expressed his full support for the University’s emphasis on holistic student development and pledged that the Foundation will continue its collaboration with HSUHK to cultivate outstanding young talent.
The Tin Ka Ping Institute for Chinese Language and Culture (the Institute) is located on the second floor of the S H Ho Academic Building on the North Campus, and regularly organises various Chinese cultural activities and seminars to deepen students’ understanding of Chinese culture.
