MA in Strategic Communication Programme of the School of Communication’s Lunar New Year 2023 Celebrations

The School of Communication (SCOM) organised a Lunar New Year gathering for students of the MA in Strategic Communication (MA-SC) programme on 9 February. Over 70 students and teachers attended the event including Professor Scarlet Tso, Dean of SCOM, Professor Ronald Chiu, Associate Dean of SCOM, and Dr Howard Song, MA-SC Programme Director.
Professor Scarlet Tso extended a warm welcome to students returning to campus. In her opening remarks, she conveyed that the School of Communication is another ‘home’ for MA students and encouraged them to actively engage in school activities to build a sense of belonging to the School and in society. Professor Ronald Chiu also wished all students a happy new year. In discussions, he also highlighted the importance of strategic communication in a post-pandemic era and encouraged students to proactively gain knowledge and acquire skills from the MA-SC programme that will help the as they build their careers.
Attending students also shared their learning experiences and exchanged views with professors on the possibilities of their future career development. Adding a bit of fun to the event, Dr Howard Song , and a student each sang a song to fully entertain the crowd as they enjoyed a joyous celebration with delightful refreshments and a lovely atmosphere.
