Two teams of HSUHK students participated in the Jockey Club UNESCO HK Association Global Citizenship Education Project Script Writing Competition last year. The students worked under the guidance from Mr. Yeung Lok Ping, lecturer from the Department of Social Science. The team of Chan Ying Chun, Leung Tsz Ping, Tsui Nok Yin Kafte, Wong Sze Ching, Wong Tsoi Ni, and Wu Ching Nam chose anxiety disorder as the theme of the script, and won the first runner-up in the tertiary section.
Four of them, together with other five HSUHK students newly joined the team – Chan Cheuk Yin, Chan Wing, Lee Cheuk Yin, Ma Yu, and Wong Chong Sum – performed the award-winning drama script in the Global Citizenship Education Festival on 24 Feb 2019.
Jockey Club UNESCO HK Association Global Citizenship Education Project Script Writing Competition took mental health and well-being as the theme for tertiary section, which echoes the United Nations’ Sustainability Development Goal (SDG) 3 – “Good health and well-being”. The organizer aims at nurturing students’ awareness on global citizenship. As an institute which aims at mobilising young people to achieve the SDGs through youth education and empowerment, Institute for Youth Sustainability Leadership provided assistance to students for their participation in the competition and public performance, with the full support from the Student Affairs Office which assisted in liaison tasks and on-site game booth operation.
