A senior management delegation from HSUHK, led by President Simon S M Ho, has visited the Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (SUAT) to explore collaboration opportunities between the two institutions recently. The HSUHK delegation is the first university from Hong Kong that has made an official visit to the newly established SUAT campus in Guangming, Shenzhen. The delegation was received by Professor Zhao Wei, Vice-Director of the Organising Office, and other senior leaders of SUAT.
Co-founded by the Chinese Academy of Science and the Shenzhen Municipal Government, SUAT was officially established in May 2024 with the aim to become a world-class research-oriented science and technology university. The highest-achieving students from the Joint Entrance Examination for Universities will begin their educational journeys in August 2024 as the University’s first cohort.
SUAT is interested in learning more about HSUHK’s known unique “Liberal + Professional” educational model and see how to give its students more exposure to liberal arts and holistic development. With a shared educational mission to nurture young professionals with transdisciplinary learning experiences, HSUHK and SUAT have agreed to leverage each other’s strengths and resources to create the best synergies. Collaboration ideas include promoting cross-border student entrepreneurship, developing a science education unit at HSUHK, and establishing an academic platform to promote technology and business management.
