The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) is listed 7th overall, and 1st in the Greater China region as per the 2023 AppliedHE ASEAN+ private university assessment exercise, conducted across the ASEAN+ region, as announced today by the Singapore-based international higher education consultant agency, AppliedHE.
Alongside its overall institutional assessment, HSUHK is listed 1st in Employability, which measures the percentage of graduates who secured full-time employment within six months of graduation. The University is also listed 3rd in Research, which measures the extent the institution contributes to the creation of new knowledge, and 5th in Community Engagement, which measures the extent the institution contributes to the local community.
The exercise is based on a sophisticated higher education assessment system that considers different dimensions of institutions’ performance based on multiple sources of data. Institutions are assessed based on the quality of teaching and learning, employability, research, community engagement, internationalisation, and institutional reputation.
Professor Hui Yer-van, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) of HSUHK, said “Within only four years of being renamed a university, this distinct achievement signifies that HSUHK’s performance have been widely recognised by the international community. The high employability of our graduates should be attributed to our ‘Liberal + Professional’ model, which offers our students top-quality education and all-round development, equipping them with the tools to succeed professionally upon graduation and contribute to society. Our staff and students are immensely proud and further encouraged by how far we have come. HUSHK will be celebrating its 43rd founding anniversary in March 2023, and we will continue to develop steadily in Hong Kong, as well as the Greater Bay Area in the coming years building on our achievements and rise to new heights”.
