The “Survey on the Life Satisfaction of Dependents Under the Talent Admission Scheme in Hong Kong: A Social Support Perspective”, organised by HSUHK and Amplify, was launched on 8 December 2024.
Led by Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) of HSUHK, the survey will explore the life satisfaction of dependents under the scheme, identify key influencing factors, and provide insights to enhance policies for positioning Hong Kong as an international education hub.
A panel discussion during the launching ceremony featured Professor Mok; Principal Lee Siu-hok, President of the Hong Kong Council for Educational Administration; and Mr John Kan, Chairman of the Top Talent Pass Scheme Association; Mr Lee Lok-tung, Honorary Consultant of The Hong Kong Council of Early Childhood Education and Services. The discussion addressed ways to optimise the scheme to attract and retain talent, meet dependents’ educational needs, and improve early childhood education support for families in Hong Kong under Hong Kong’s Talent Admission Scheme.
The initiative is supported by the Hong Kong Council for Educational Administration, Hong Kong Council of Early Childhood Education and Services, Yau Tsim Mong District Home Affairs Department, Yau Tsim Mong Federation of Associations, Yau Tsim Mong Healthy City Executive Committee, Hong Kong Quality and Talent Migrants Association, Hong Kong Youth Union, and Yau Tsim Mong Youths Society. The survey findings have been scheduled for release in February 2025, and will aim to inform policy recommendations and strengthen societal support.
