HSUHK appoints Dr Josiah Chan as Vice-President (Organisational Development)

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) announces that the Board of Governors and the Council have approved the appointment of Dr Josiah Chan Tin-yan(陳天恩)as the Vice-President (Organisational Development), with effect from 2 January 2025.

As Vice-President (Organisational Development), Dr Chan will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and administrative oversight for a number of important functions, including corporate secretariat and governance, finance and business, human resources management, campus development and facilities management, management information and institutional research, sustainability and social responsibilities, and institutional advancement. He will also serve as the Secretary to the Board of Governors and the Council.

Dr Chan earned his bachelor’s degree at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and his professional doctoral degree and master’s degree at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is currently the Director – Corporate Services of the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA), leading a sizable corporate services team overseeing a diverse portfolio including finance, information technology, human resources, corporate governance, and council secretariat.

Dr Chan has a unique extensive professional track record across both the higher education and the business sectors. Prior to joining HKEAA, he served as chief operating officer and assistant general manager in several leading travel agencies in Hong Kong. Dr Chan also served as Assistant Director of Student Services at Lingnan University, and was a lecturer and programme leader at the then Community College of City University of Hong Kong.
