HSMC is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr Tin Ka Ping, one of the most respected philanthropists in Hong Kong, on 10 Jul 2018 at the age of 99.

Since 2014, Dr Tin and his Foundation have worked with HSMC to offer valuable education opportunities to aspiring learners. The Foundation’s donation has supported many meaningful projects organised by the Department of English of the College, including “Tin Ka Ping Arts Ambassadors”, “Intercultural English Summer Camp”, “Footprint from afar: The story of Hakka people”, etc, which aim to provide students with opportunities to expand their cultural literacy and “glocal” awareness while boosting English proficiency.

The HSMC community would like to convey heartfelt condolences to Dr Tin’s family. He will be dearly missed and will always be remembered for his invaluable contribution to the College and to the education development of the nation.
