9 October 2018
The Joint High Table Dinner of HSMC Jockey Club Residential Colleges (RC) was held on 9 Oct 2018 at the College Hall. Around 500 participants including residents from four RCs, RC Masters, Associate Masters, Resident Tutors, RC Fellows, as well as academic and administrative staff joined this event.
The dinner was kicked off by a warm welcoming address by President Simon S M Ho. It was then followed by a keynote speech by Ms Kim Lim, Co-founder of The Picha Project, a social enterprise helping refugees in Malaysia to rebuild their lives through a sustainable food business. She shared her own experience in making changes to the community and encouraging students to embrace their beliefs which could make contributions to their families, the community and the world.
Another highlight of the dinner was the presentation of Council Chairman Bowl by President Ho. With the generous support from Council Chairman Dr Moses Cheng, the inter-RC competitions were instituted as the Council Chairman Bowl in 2017/18 academic year. The Evergreen College, which achieved overall the highest total scores, was the champion to receive the Council Chairman Bowl!
