The Provost’s Office, in association with the Department of Social Science, was honoured to present the talk by Dr Mehdi Fakheri, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Hong Kong and Macau, on 11 Apr 2018. This talk was part of the newly launched HSMC Consul General Series.

Dr Fakheri introduced the socio-economic development of Iran in various aspects, covering the country’s political system, economic structure, economy and trade, energy policies, international relations and the Iranian culture. He also shed light on the current development in the Middle East. Participating students gained an understanding of modern Iran and appreciated the ancient civilisation that is a gem in the region.
