In the summer of 2023, the Honours Academy (the HA) hosted the HA Public Lecture series with two sharing sessions, one featuring Ms Antonia Yeung, Associate Vice-President (Development and Campus Services), the HA’s Academic Fellow, and the other session extended an invitation to Ms Quince Chong, Chief Corporate Development Officer of CLP Power, the HA’s Professional Fellow.
At the first public lecture titled “Learn – Think – Laugh: Finding Purpose and Joy Wherever Life Takes You”, held on 8 August, Ms Yeung encouraged the audience to pursue life purposes by ideally striking a healthy balance among passion, mission, profession and vocation. She inspired the audience to navigate obstacles through resilience, perspective and optimism. Along with her inspirational words, Ms Yeung also recommended continuous self-development by exploring interests and natural talents.
On 28 August, Ms Chong, the Chief Corporate Development Officer of CLP Power, enlightened audience members with her sharing on the topic “Reputation Management in a Fast-Changing World”. With over three decades of experience, Ms Chong illustrated how transparent, dialogic communications have become increasingly vital in maintaining trust in corporate communications, especially in the era of rapid online information flow. Ms Chong also highlighted the impact of storytelling in reputation management, and helped the audience understand how strategically framing initiatives with a human-centered narrative fosters identification and support. She showcased CLP campaigns that effectively convey the company’s vision and community impact.
By fostering inspirational role models and innovative pedagogies, the public lecture series provided transformative leadership experiences beyond conventional boundaries.
