Graduate School hosts cross-university collaboration in education research

On 22 February 2025, the Graduate School at HSUHK hosted a joint research and postgraduate studies workshop with the University of Bristol and Lingnan University, titled “Education Research from an Interdisciplinary Perspective”. Postgraduate students, faculty, and researchers from the three universities discussed the importance of cross-disciplinary cooperation when addressing critical issues in education.

Dr Janet Orchard, Associate Professor at the University of Bristol’s School of Education, delivered an insightful presentation titled “Moral and Professional: Philosophical Reflections on Ethics in Teaching and Teacher Education. Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research) of HSUHK, addressed the intersection of AI and postgraduate education while discussing the topic “AI and Postgraduate Education: Bringing Humanities Back In”. In his presentation, he emphasised the importance of integrating humanistic perspectives into the increasingly technological landscape of higher education. Dr Zhao Kai, Research Assistant Professor at Lingnan University, delivered a presentation on the topic “Navigating the Middle Ground: Chinese Parents’ Strategic Choices in Sino-Foreign Cooperative Universities”, providing valuable insights into the complexities of parental involvement in educational decision-making within Sino-foreign cooperative universities.
