27 April 2023
The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) organised its third HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards (2021-22) seminar on 27 April 2023, titled ‘Feedback that Fuels Success: Enhancing Learning through Effective Assessments and Peer Feedback’. The seminar recognised two HSUHK Teaching Excellence Award winners: Dr Holly Chung, Senior Lecturer, and Dr Maggie Ma, Assistant Professor, both from the Department of English, School of Humanities and Social Science.
Dr Chung spoke about her assessment design and feedback philosophy, sharing effective practices for providing customised feedback for individual student needs and preferences. She also introduced online applications that facilitate feedback for different types of assessments.
Dr Ma shared her analysis of different peer feedback strategies, focusing on how to develop students’ evaluative capabilities through a wide range of peer review and comparison activities.
The seminar was attended by nearly 30 academic and administrative staff members from different departments and units.
From February to April 2023, CTL has hosted three HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards Sharing Seminars. The sharing sessions not only celebrate our award-winning teachers, but also provide a platform for academic fellows to showcase effective practices and learn from each other, ultimately benefiting the entire academic community.
