3 March 2022
The HSUHK Innovation Project Competition 2022 (“the Competition”) reached a new height, with its Pitching Competition and Awards Presentation Ceremony successfully organised on 3 March. Marching into its 7th year, the Competition is aimed at stimulating our students’ innovativeness through their original proposals.
The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) this year, again, was proudly joined by the Institute for Youth Sustainability Leadership (IYSL) and the Wu Jieh Yee Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (WUCIE) as CTL’s strategic partners, enriching this Competition with talks and workshops.
Themed upon the three chosen Sustainable Development Goals specified by the United Nations, namely SDG4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure) and SDG10 (Reduce Inequalities), the Competition enlightened about four hundred students and staff through three theme-based talks in November 2021. In February 2022, the student participants of this Competition were showered with two skill-based workshops: first, CTL’s E-Learning Team inspired them to spice up their PowerPoint or PowToon proposals, and the Hongkong-based renowned comedian, Vivek Mahbubani, further sparked their interest in pitching their proposal in a captivative way, with only three minutes in their hands.
A total of 39 students in the 12 shortlisted teams achieved tremendously throughout the whole Competition, from writing a concrete proposal to shining on our online stage in their three-minute pitch.
Congratulations to all participants for their superb performances! The winning teams would be further encouraged to refine and revise their proposals to join intra- and inter-university entrepreneurship or innovation competitions where exchange of ideas, generous seed funds and incubation training are up for grabs, turning their proposals into reality.
