The School of Communication (SCOM) at HSUHK and the School of Journalism and Communication at Huaqiao University (HQU) in Xiamen signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen connections and collaboration between the two Schools and promote the use of AI in enhancing journalism and communication education.
The MoU was signed by Professor Scarlet Tso, Dean of SCOM, and Professor Wang Guiting, Executive Associate Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at HQU, during SCOM’s visit to HQU on 9 and 10 January 2025.
The SCOM delegation also met with Professor Lin Hongyu, Vice-President of HQU, and held a symposium with Li Yongsong, Party Secretary of HQU’s School of Journalism and Communication; Professor Wang Guiting; Professor Zhu Danhong, Associate Dean, and other leaders. The two Schools exchanged views on jointly exploring AI and journalism education, teacher and student exchanges, and academic research. They expressed hope that through the innovative application of cutting-edge technology, both institutions can enhance the scientific and technological elements of journalism and communication education, infusing vitality into the field of global cultural communication.
