A delegation from the Bhutanese royal family visited HSUHK on 6 January 2025. The delegation were warmly welcomed by President Simon Ho; Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research); Dr Josiah Chan, Vice-President (Organisational and Development); Professor Tam Kwok-kan, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Science; Professor Gilbert Fong, Emeritus Dean of the School of Translation and Foreign Languages; Professor Desmond Hui, Head of the Department of Art and Design; Dr Shelby Chan, Associate Dean of the School of Translation and Foreign Languages; Dr Siu Sai-yau, Director of the Research Centre for Translation of Buddhist Texts; and Ms Elisa Chan, Director of Advancement and Alumni Affairs.
Members of the Bhutanese royal family engaged in discussions with HSUHK on topics including art, heritage conservation, artificial intelligence, legal translation, and social humanities. They also explored the impact of sustainable development on society. Both sides anticipate promoting student and academic exchanges in the future, strengthening mutual connection and collaboration.
