This course provides an overview of the current issues in supply chain and logistics management. In this course, the supply chain developments, logistics infrastructure, as well as the supply chain and logistics industries and their principal practitioners will be examined. Special focus will be put on supply chain and logistics between Hong Kong, mainland China, Asia with US and Europe.

First, current developments in various transportation modes are introduced. The respective issues of the principal agents in the management of supply chain and logistics will then be discussed. Recent trends in trade, distribution, and adoption of IT for cargo logistics are also covered. Lastly, future developments and challenges are discussed.

Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

1. describe the current developments of supply chain and logistics management;

4. propose and develop strategies for current challenges; and


5. evaluate how the developments in IT and global economies transform supply chain and logistics industries.
