Module Description
This module is designed to introduce students to basic econometric methods for analysing data in economics and related disciplines. It also enables students to use econometrics software packages for empirical analysis. The software used in this module is gretl, EViews or EXCEL.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
- demonstrate basic understanding of some commonly used probability distribution;
- demonstrate basic understanding of econometrics theories;
- apply econometric techniques to specific empirical economic problems; and
- use computer statistics software of gretl, EViews or EXCEL.
