Module Description
This module aims to expose students to current trends in cutting-edge research areas in Data Science and Business Intelligence (DSBI). It emphasises broadening students\' knowledge by teaching them new methodologies used in modern DSBI research. Practical examples with business data are used for illustration. Students can learn the computational and numerical skills and techniques for analysing business data. The topics vary according to the expertise and interests of the module coordinator.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
- understand the basic concepts and impacts of DSBI and its importance to the business community;
- understand the current trends in cutting-edge research areas in DSBI and apply the DSBI techniques and skills;
- apply computational and numerical skills and techniques with/without the use of computer software to solve a range of problems in DSBI; and
- interpret the solution and convey the analytical results of the DSBI problems accurately.
