Module Description
This module aims at providing students with a fundamental understanding of different management principles and functions, equip them for more advanced studies in other business-related disciplines or modules, and enable them to develop basic strategies and tactics to accomplish organisational goals. Through the use of pedagogic activities involving self-awareness, brain-storming, role-playing, case study and the like, students are able to give a critical appraisal of real life situations dealing with organising, staffing, and motivating others.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
- explain the important role of managers in an organization and identify required managerial skills;
- illustrate the management process and various dimensions of effective management;
- identify and analyse managerial issues from the management perspective; and
- apply theoretical concepts of management into practice.
