Module Description
This module provides students with the mathematical foundations of probability and statistical
theories. Selected topics include elements of probability, random variables, discrete and
continuous probability distributions, and multivariate probability distributions. Students
are required to comprehend the most commonly used probability distributions and their
relations. Central Limit Theorem and related statistical application should be well understood.
Applications are also emphasised by using ample practical business problems to illustrate the
principles and methods.
