Module Description
This module aims to develop students’ ability of telling effective story or sharing experience across multiple media platforms, using various forms and formats to deliver coherent content fitted into the local context. Theories and applications are studied through exploring digital storytelling components that involve telling a central story with various types of digital communication channels, characterising each channel in connection with the story, and allowing audience to participate in the storytelling process.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
- explain the essential elements of storytelling;
- analyse the different storytelling forms and structures;
- apply effective writing, creative thinking and communication skills to perform linear and non-linear storytelling across multi-channels; and
- formulate a multichannel campaign plan to communicate and engage with the audience during the interactive storytelling process.
