Module Description
This module is designed to help students understand the theoretical aspects of the total speech communication process, acquire the ability to distinguish good speeches from bad ones, and learn the skills of designing and delivering a speech in person or through news media with confidence and effectiveness.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
- have a good grasp of the theoretical aspects of total speech communication process
- analyse various types of speech to show what constitutes effective public speaking in person and through the news media
- compose and deliver different types of speech with confidence and effectiveness
- provide critiques about a selected real life speech
