Module Description
This module aims to introduce students to the main concepts, theories, practice and controversies in global communication. It also discusses the contemporary issues in global communication through analyses of international news and information flows, media imports/exports, culture industry and cultural consumption and globalisation within communication industries.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
- interpret the main concepts, theories and practice in global communication;
- discuss the unbalanced flow of global news and information;
- analyse major issues and cases in global communication; and
- critically examine the current trends of global media industries.
