Module Description
This module aims to allow students to keep abreast of the latest trends in the IT development. The module introduces to students several latest topics in IT development and provides a thorough discussion of the latest concepts. Topics include cloud computing, big data and social computing etc. Upon finishing the module, students are expected to be able to apply the latest ideas to practical scenarios and analyse the strengths and weaknesses of different ideas.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
- Understand the development of technologies and the importance of catching up with the latest technology
- Describe several new computing technologies
- Analyze and make use of new concepts to improve existing applications; and
- Develop self-learning skills to catch up with the development of latest technologies
