Module Description
In an age of email lists, online discussion groups and social media, the Internet has grown from a fringe cultural phenomenon to a significant site of cultural production and transformation. This module provides students with an overview of the topics in Internet culture. It covers the historical development of Internet culture, implications of the rise of Internet culture, virtual community, the Internet in the context of work, the Internet in political processes and the culture of search etc.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
- identify the historical development of Internet culture;
- analyze the implications of the rise of Internet culture;
