On 6 December 2024, HSUHK welcomed a delegation from the La Salle Campus Barcelona Ramon Llull University (La Salle–URL), Spain, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Specific Exchange Agreement. The signing ceremony signified a mutual commitment to enhance academic exchange between the two institutions.

The La Salle–URL delegation was led by Mr Josep Fernández, General Director, who was accompanied by Dr Guiomar Corral, Dean of La Salle Digital Engineering School, and Professor Víctor Alves, Head of the International Relations Office. The delegation was received by Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research); Professor Jeanne Fu, Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience); Professor Liu Hai, Associate Dean (Research) of the School of Decision Sciences; and Dr Ken Yau, Head of Global Affairs.

At the ceremony, Professor Mok shared HSUHK’s mission as an emerging and vibrant university. Mr Fernández emphasised that both institutions share a common philosophy, with sustainability as a prime example of the shared values, to create collaborative academic exchange opportunities. HSUHK’s undergraduate programmes offered by the Department of Management under the School of Business, and the Department of Computer Science under the School of Decision Sciences were introduced; while La Salle–URL’s newly launched programmes which integrate AI with various disciplines such as management, data science, and health engineering, were highlighted as a response to the demands of the global landscape. Both HSUHK and La Salle–URL are committed to fostering a comprehensive partnership in addition to student exchange.
