The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) received a generous donation from Professor Francis Yuen and Dr Rose Lee in support of the University’s strategic development. The HSUHK South Campus was named as “Yuen Campus” on 25 November 2021 in recognition of their staunch support. On 28 November 2022, HSUHK invited Professor Yuen and Dr Lee to revisit and celebrate the first anniversary of the Yuen Campus, and learn more about the University’s diverse activities in the past year and future developments.
The Yuen Campus comprises Lee Quo Wai Academic Building, M Building, N Building and HSUHK Jockey Club Residential Colleges. A wide range of activities were organised on Yuen Campus last years, including various ceremonies, academic exchanges, conferences, exhibitions, student activities, celebrations and performances such as the Second Honorary Doctorate Conferment, Graduation Ceremony, Appreciation and Naming Ceremony of Residential Colleges, “Live Chat with Youth” Forum series, “HSUHK FunD Run” and High Table Dinners. All these have filled the Campus with excitement and vitality and provided students with a rich campus life.
On that day, President Simon Ho updated Professor Yuen and Dr Lee with HSUHK’s recent developments. They were impressed by HSUHK’s achievements and shared their valuable advice. They suggested that it was essential for HSUHK to establish a clear position, keep up with the changing society, offer practical programmes which meet the societal needs, and bring about positive changes and sustainable development for society. The University anticipated the continuing support from the pair for the betterment of higher education.
