Career Teachers Development Day 2015


The third CareerTeachers Development Day organised by the Registry was held successfully on 28March 2015 with the aim of enhancing the secondary school teachers’understanding on the latest development of HSMC and student life. It wasdelighted to have over 40 career teachers attending the event.

President ProfessorSimon S M Ho kicked off the event by extending the College’s heartfeltgratitude to the career teachers for their support to HSMC. He also shared withthem future plans and campus expansion scheme of HSMC, as well as the “Liberal+ Professional” education model. In addition, an introduction of the latestadmission information was given by the admissions colleague from the Registrywhile the newly launched degree programme, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Chinesewas introduced by Dr John Yuen, Associate Head  of Department of Chinese. Mr David Poon, BBAYear 3 student, was invited to share his exchange and internship experiences duringhis study at HSMC, which let the participants have a glimpse of the diversifiedcollege life of HSMC students.  

The HSMC’s studyenvironment and state-of-the-art teaching facilities were showcased to the participatingteachers during the campus tours guided by the Student Ambassadors. Programmerepresentatives also took this opportunity to give brief introduction about theprogramme and the supporting facilities during the tour. It definitely helpedin enriching participating teachers’ knowledge on programme offerings of HSMC thoroughly.The gathering luncheon marked the successful end of the event. Through face-to-facecommunication between HSMC staff and the participants, it is hoped that the teachershave been impressed by the common goal of “Knowledge Impartation with Education”of all HSMC staff and their faith in HSMC has been strengthened. In the meantime,HSMC staffs have established good relationships with the participants by deeplyunderstanding the public’s expectation towards HSMC and receiving their invaluableopinions.
