BJC Talk Series 16: From Reporting to Being Reported: Changing Dynamics of Public Affairs over Thirty Years


Ms.Catherine Choi, the Public Affairs Director of CLP Power Hong Kong,was invited to be the guest speaker at the 16th BJC Talk. Ms. Choi talked about her previous jobs as a news reporter and also shared her valuable experience in Public Affairs/Public Relations industry.

 

During her speech, Ms. Choi briefed the changes of newspaper industry in Hong Kong over three decades. She pointed out that an excellent news reporter should have important qualifications including integrity, familiarity with current issues and great adaptability.

 

Ms.Choi also stated that Public Affairs/Public Relations is a prosperous but challenging industry. Apart from coordinating different kinds of Public Affairs/Public Relations activities, crisis management is a major part of Public Affairs/Public Relations. Her sharing was insightful to students who have career aspiration to media industry and corporate communication.
