Education Bureau Officers including Ms. Michelle Li (Deputy Secretary for Education), Ms. Pecvin Yong (Principal Assistant) and Mr. Simon Chan (Assistant Secretary – Further Education) visited HSMC on 29 April 2014.

The three guests had a meeting with our President, Prof. Simon Ho, to have an overview of the College’s future development.  Following the meeting, they met with the members of Department of Supply Chain Management (SCM), including Prof. T.S. Lee (Chairperson & Programme Director), Dr. Collin Wong (Administration Head) and Dr. Stephen Ng (Deputy Programme Director).  SCM colleagues shared with the guests about the programme development, current and future trends of supply chain market and the career prospects of our graduates.

Through the meeting, guests were informed that our programme gained recognition from professional associations such as Hong Kong Logistics Association (HKLA) and the Institute of Purchasing and Supply of Hong Kong (IPSHK).

After that, the guests visited the newly-developed campus facilities such as Block B Sports and Amenities Centre, the New Student Hostel Project Mock-up Rooms and the Decision Sciences Technology Laboratory (DST Lab) Located at Block A.  They were particularly impressed by the design of the DST Lab and reckoned the tailor-made software could facilitate teaching and learning activities. Besides, they were also invited to sit in a lecture delivered by Dr. Tommy Cheung.  Ms. Michelle Li shared her experience with our students. Students appreciated advice and encouragement on both life and studies given by Ms. Li. To conclude, the guests had made positive comments on the SCM Programme.
