Wong Ho Lam came second among the university students from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and the Mainland in an essay competition organised by the Management Leadership Training Programme for the New Century, hosted by Kowloon Chamber of Commerce.
The award-winning piece “醫科文經學不倦,精英共創新紀元” is a combination of prose and verse capturing the highlights of the programme.
The Management Leadership Training Programme for the New Century provided a platform for the elites from across the straits to communicate the differences in culture, lifestyle and ideology. The programme underscored a diversified and multi-faceted training, including academic exchanges, talks, seminars, cultural performances, and visits. These enabled students to demonstrate leadership through acquiring the operating philosophies in various business environments and gaining cross-cultural management know-how and experience. With a leap in their personal growth, students reaped benefits for their future careers. A number of renowned universities from Taiwan later joined the programme, adding to the dynamics of the cultural exchanges.
