2019 Orientation Day of the School of Communication was held on 20 August to cordially welcome close to 200 freshmen to the School.
Professor Scarlet Tso, Dean of School of Communication, gave freshmen her warmest welcome and shared with them the campus life and the culture of the School. She also encouraged students to work hard and develop a good attitude to better prepare themselves for their career and life in the future.
Senior Lecturer Ms Glacial Cheng, the MC, then introduced one by one all academic staff and administrative staff of the School to the freshmen. To help freshmen get started on their studies, Dr Meily Cheung, Programme Director of Bachelor of Journalism and Communication (BJC) and Professor Trevor Siu, Programme Director of Bachelor of Arts in Convergent Media and Communication Technology (BA-CMCT), illustrated in detail the structures and other important information of their respective programmes.
President of the Student Association of Journalism & Communication (SAJC) also gave a welcoming speech, sharing with the freshmen the SAJC’s visions and ambitions while calling for the freshmen’s support to the SAJC.
After a series of information sessions, all staff and students enjoyed a pleasant lunch together.
