The 2018 Graduation Ceremony of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong was held on 5 December 2018 in four sessions, officiated by Ms Louisa Cheang, Chairman of the Board of Governors and Dr Moses Cheng, Chairman of Council. Degrees were conferred to over 1,280 graduates. Members of Board of Governors and Council, and honorable guests from different sectors gathered together to share the precious moment with the graduates and their families.
Ms Louisa Cheang and Dr Moses Cheng encouraged the graduates to continue learning, exploring and challenging themselves, no matter where their personal journey takes them.
President Simon S M Ho expressed his warmest congratulations to all graduates. He encouraged them to choose meaningful and rewarding careers which suit their interests, and be ready to embrace challenges both in life and at work. He also reminded graduates to be thankful to those who gave them support in their studies, including their parents, teachers and fellow classmates. President Ho also expressed his excitement for the first cohort of graduates with degree conferred by The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong finally after eight years of long endeavour for the university title.
The 2017-18 HSUHK Teaching Excellence Awards were presented at the Ceremony. Three academic staff members were awarded for their outstanding performance in teaching, and dedication to continuous improvement in pedagogy. The award recipients are (in alphabetical order) Dr Holly Chung from the Department of English, Mr Brian So from the School of Communication and Dr Felix Tang from the Department of Marketing.
