President Simon S M Ho, Professor Y V Hui, Vice-President (Academic and Research),Professor Scarlet Tso, Associate Vice-President (Communications and Public Affairs) and Dean of School of Communication, Professor James Chang, Associate Dean of School of Communication and Professor Kao Lang, Head of Department of Social Science paid an academic visit to Taiwan in February 2017, aiming to promote HSMC and form alignments and partnerships with Taiwan universities.
President Ho and other faculty members paid an official call to Mr Ma Ying-jeou, Former President of the Republic of China, and visited various leading universities including National Taiwan University, Shih Hsin University and Fu Jen CatholicUniversity.
The HSMC delegation visited National Taiwan University and had meeting with President Pan-Chyr Yang,Professor Kuo-Hsien Su, Dean of School of Social Science and Professor Long-Shien Lee, Head of Department of Chinese Literature. They exchanged views on the development and challenges of higher education in both Taiwan and Hong Kong, and discussed opportunities of future collaboration. The delegation then joined a campus tour and visited the exhibition to know more about the history and development of National Taiwan University.
The delegation also visited Shih Hsin University and Fu Jen Catholic University which have signed Academic Cooperation Agreement with HSMC. They met President Yeong-Chyan Wu of Shih Hsin University and Dr Michael T. S. Lee, Vice-President of International Affairs of Fu Jen Catholic University. They recalled great outcomes of previous cooperation and looked ahead for more collaboration to provide students with more opportunities of learning and exchanging.
It is envisioned that the visiting academic staffs are benefited from this constructive trip, and the scholastic environment will be fostered at HSMC.
