Three HSMC Students Awarded Medals by Hong Kong Young Ambassadors Scheme 2015/16
18 August 2016
Congratulations to Howard Chan Wing Kin (BBA, Year 4), Connie Chan Yin Siu (BBA, Year 4), and Tang Wing Yin (BJC, Year 1) who received a Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal respectively for their outstanding performance in the Hong Kong Young Ambassadors Scheme 2015/16. The medals were presented at the Scheme’s Appointment and Awards Ceremony 2016/17 on 18 August 2016, with Miss Cathy Chu, JP, Commissioner for Tourism, Tourism Commission; Dr Peter Lam, Chairman, Hong Kong Tourism Board; Dr Rosanna Wong, Executive Director, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, and Mr James Tong, Chairman, Hong Kong Association for Customers Service Excellence, as officiating guests.
Howard Chan, a Gold Medal awardee from HSMC who succeeded in contributing 200 hours of service to the Scheme, found the experience very rewarding. Through intensive training and providing a wide range of services to visitors to Hong Kong, the awardees had gained a better understanding of the diverse culture of Hong Kong. They became role models for others with their sense of belonging to Hong Kong as well as a hospitality and service excellence culture cultivated through the Scheme. Now in its 15th year, the Hong Kong Young Ambassador Scheme is organised by the Tourism Commission of the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, and co-organised by the Hong Kong Association for Customer Service Excellence.
