HSMC Held a Media Spring Luncheon
In order to promote the College’s image and buildclose relationships with the media, the Communications and Public AffairsOffice (CPAO) organised a MediaSpring Luncheon at the HSMC Jockey Club Residential Colleges on 19 February2016.
President Simon S M Ho and senior management took the occasion to expresstheir Chinese New Year blessings to our media friends. President Ho together with some local and exchange students pan-friedtraditional Chinese New Year cakes to thank the media for their continuous support and wished all a veryfruitful Year of the Monkey.
President Ho introduced the latest developmentsof HSMC to the media. He revealed that HSMC will offer 2 new programmes, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Applied and Human-centered Computing and Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) in AsianStudies in the academic year 2016/17. Besides,the College’s first postgraduate programme, Master of Arts in Translation(Business and Legal) will launch too, subject to final approval of the ExecutiveCouncil.
He also remarked that HSMC attaches great importance to leadershiptraining. The College was honoured to have 3 winners of Nobel Prize to hostlectures and seminars at HSMC. The President Forums were held, featuringprominent scholars and experts in different aspects. Moreover, the 52-episode radioprogramme “President’s Dialogues with Distinguished Leaders” successfullyconcluded in November 2015. The content of the radio programme will be assembledin a book to share the success stories of the distinguished leaders. HSMC willcontinue to organise different leadership educational activities to broaden thehorizons of young people as well as to promote liberal and leadershipeducation.
